A New Milestone in Supply Chain Excellence
On January 16, 2026, Babyyum officially commenced operations at its new Infant Fermented Milk Factory in the Harbin New Area Health Food Industrial Park. This facility stands as a landmark achievement: it is the first dedicated infant canned supplementary yogurt project in Northeast China and the first industrial project to launch in the Harbin New Area this year.
This opening signifies a major strategic shift for Babyyum, transitioning from a primarily asset-light e-commerce model to a robust, full-chain manufacturing enterprise. By establishing this heavy-asset base, Babyyum is taking direct control of its most critical production links, ensuring unparalleled quality consistency and supply chain resilience.
World-Class Capabilities and “New Quality Productive Forces”
The Harbin factory is designed with state-of-the-art technology to meet the highest global standards for infant food safety and nutrition.
Strategic Capacity: The facility boasts a designed annual capacity of 8,000 tons, with a projected annual output value of 100 million RMB. Since resuming work after the Lunar New Year, the factory has already reached full production, producing over 100,000 bags daily to meet surging national demand.
Technological Innovation: At the heart of the factory’s R&D capability is the use of exclusive probiotic strains jointly developed by Hantong Biology and Harbin Institute of Technology. This proprietary technology ensures unique health benefits tailored specifically for infants.
Premium Raw Materials: Leveraging Heilongjiang’s reputation as China’s "golden milk source belt," the factory sources Wandashan A2 Organic Milk. This creates a closed-loop operational model within the Harbin New Area, from raw milk to finished product, minimizing logistics risks and maximizing freshness.
Product Diversity: While initially focused on fermented milk, the factory is equipped to produce fruit purees. The product line has already expanded to include diverse flavors such as original, yellow peach, strawberry, and prune, with plans to incorporate local cold-region berries in the future.
The "Harbin Speed": From Signing to Production in 5 Months
Reflecting Babyyum’s commitment to agility and efficiency, the project moved from signing to full production in just five months—the fastest construction record in the company’s history. This achievement, dubbed the “New Area Speed,” was made possible through a dedicated service task force established by the Harbin New Area government, which streamlined approval processes and ensured rapid resource allocation.
"This speed demonstrates not only our own execution capabilities but also the exceptional business environment of the Harbin New Area," said Xu Fangfang, Vice President of Supply Chain and General Manager. "This factory is the cornerstone of our long-term strategy to control quality at the source."
Strategic Impact: Upgrading the Regional Industry
The opening of the Babyyum factory fills a critical gap in the regional dairy industry chain, driving the upgrade of Heilongjiang’s milk resources toward high-end, high-value-added infant food.
With an expected annual output of 100 million RMB, the factory is a significant contributor to the local economy. The facility has already created numerous jobs, hiring 18 additional frontline workers immediately after the New Year to support full-capacity operations.
Future Expansion: Babyyum has already planned a Phase II project within the same industrial park, aiming to further expand its product matrix and deepen its investment in the region.
Looking Ahead
The inauguration of the Harbin factory marks the end of Babyyum’s reliance on third-party OEM models for its core fermented milk products. It is a definitive statement of the brand’s commitment to “Long-termism”—prioritizing food safety, scientific innovation, and supply chain stability over short-term gains.
As Guo Baoping, Founder of Babyyum, has often stated, the value of an enterprise lies in solving social problems. By building its own factory, Babyyum is solving the industry-wide challenge of inconsistent quality control in outsourced production, providing parents with trustworthy, scientifically-backed nutrition that is manufactured under their own strict supervision.
With the Harbin base now fully operational and Phase II on the horizon, Babyyum is well-positioned to lead the next chapter of high-quality development in China’s infant food sector.
